Why did you run for Council?
To represent the residents of a progressive Moreland and help maintain the grass roots connection between Council and community.
What do you see as the top 5 issues facing Council over the next 4 years?
- Climate change
- Implementing the Moreland Health and Wellbeing Plan
- Maintaining and increasing open space
- Planning/built environment
- Affordable housing
What local issues are you especially interested in?
Helping Moreland become carbon neutral and using the strength of the community to do so.
Name 3 things you want this Council to achieve in the next 4 years?
- To become carbon neutral
- Implement the Coburg Initiative
- Create a more robust and comprehensive Carbon Neutral Plan.
What is your vision for Moreland?
To create a Moreland which is inviting for all residents to come together respectfully, and to participate and revel in the love of other residents of this municipality.
What are your main interests outside Council?
- Darbuka Drumming
- Gardening
- Hydrogeology
- Cooking
- Dancing
What community activities in Moreland have you been involved in?
- The Sydney Road Street Party - stall holder
- Water sampling of Merri Creek - Waterwatch monitor
- Ciclovia - rode my bike down the centre of Sydney Road then danced, sat and ran.
What are some of your favourite things about Moreland?
The array of cultures and their influence on the restaurants. The open space available to everyone and the access to all forms of public transport.
Work experience, career, job?
Hydrogeologist; currently a project manager at an environmental/contaminated land and groundwater consultancy company.
Family, children, dogs, cats?
Immediate family roots to New Zealand, Romania and Poland.
