How to create an eTenderbox account

On your first visit to eTenderbox you need to create a new supplier account. There is no cost to create an account.

To create your supplier account, you need:

  • your business name
  • your Australian Business Number (ABN), if applicable
  • your contact details

If you don't have an ABN, you can also register as an individual.

You will need to create a user name and password for your account.

Once you have created your supplier account, you can register your interest in a tender and download tender files. For some tenders you will also be able to send your response electronically.

When you create a supplier account you register your company or organisation with Council’s Electronic Tender Box (eTenderbox).

I need help to use eTenderbox

The eTenderbox website has step by step instructions to help you. It includes how to create a supplier account, register and download tender documents.

Is there a charge to create an account?

There is no cost to create an eTenderbox supplier account.

Is eTenderbox safe?

All documents loaded to the system are virus checked.

Only a person with your logon and password can access your data.

When you upload your documents Moreland staff cannot open them until the tender closes, so they are secure and cannot be leaked. All conversations within the system are recorded and reported as part of an auditable trail.

Why am I being notified of tenders from other organisations?

When you register you may find you start receiving notifications of tenders from other organisations.

These are organisations releasing public tenders in the categories you have listed your company against using eTenderbox.

Where does Council advertise its tenders?

Public tenders are advertised mainly in The Age newspaper, however may also be advertised in the Herald Sun.

Council tenders will also be advertised on eTenderbox.

Non-public tenders will usually not be advertised.

We strongly encourage suppliers and potential suppliers to register with eTenderbox to make sure you are notified of Council tenders. This lets Moreland City Council direct tender notifications to relevant tenderers.

Can I still find tenders in the paper but submit to eTenderbox?

Council will still advertise in the paper.

Unless a tender specifically states only electronic copies will be accepted, hard copy tenders submitted to the Council tenderbox at 90 Bell Street, Coburg will be accepted.

Tenderers will need to make sure they are aware of any addenda or outcomes of questions posed. This is easier for those who collect documents through the eTenderbox, as they will be notified when new addenda are issued or questions answered.

Can I still submit my tender by hard copy?

The eTenderbox is the only way Moreland City Council releases tenders, however quotes may still be released and accepted a number of ways.

Tenders can only be submitted via eTenderbox unless specifically stated that hard copy will be accepted.  Quotations need to be submitted in accordance with the instructions on the quotation request.  Submission through eTenderbox ensures you know your tender has been received and you are kept aware of any changes or messages. It also date stamps all actions to protect you in any investigation or audit.
