Seeding grants
Seeding grants support developmental and innovative projects by Moreland based community groups, incorporated organisations or individual artists, and the incorporation and strengthening of Moreland based community groups.
Amounts available
Grants of up to $2999 are available for new initiatives that meet the eligibility criteria.
Groups seeking to become incorporated are eligible for up to $1000.
Application date
Applications open in the beginning of February and close at the end of March each year.
Who can apply
Seeding grants are available to any one group, organisation or an auspiced artist on a one off basis only.
How long is the funding period
Seeding grants are strictly valid for a period of 12 months. Projects must occur and be completed within the same financial of the grant being awarded.

- Council can give you feedback on your funding ideas.
- All proposals must be discussed with the Grants Officer on 9240 1111 or email Grants at Moreland.
- We suggest you do this at least 2 weeks before the application due date.

Eligibility criteria
- Moreland based community groups seeking incorporation. Groups that have previously received support through the Moreland City Council Grants program via an auspice arrangement will be given priority.
- Innovative initiatives based on collaboration among a variety of Moreland community groups.
- Applications demonstrating clear project timelines, budget, outcomes and community benefit.
- Groups not incorporated or individual artists must apply through an auspice arrangement.
- Incorporated groups or groups with an ABN.
- Groups which have previously received a Seeding grant will not be funded. Previous Seeding Grant recipients may apply for a Project Grant.
- Projects which fail to demonstrate the need for developmental support will not be funded.
- Applications which do not include a financial statement (excludes new community initiatives applying through an auspice) will not be funded.
