Brunswick Baths redevelopment update
The $16.6 million redevelopment of the Brunswick City Baths is now well underway.
The Baths closed for redevelopment on 1 June this year, heralding a new era in aquatic recreation opportunities for the Moreland community of this 21st century.
The Baths are scheduled to re-open in the second half of 2012.
Built in 1914, the 50-metre outdoor pool and the indoor pool will be totally overhauled, while new under-cover facilities include an indoor play pool, a whole floor of gym and other indoor training facilities, a revamped creche, plus there will be lift access linking all areas.
The redevelopment is scheduled to cost $16.6m, with $14.1m of the cost funded by Council and $2.5m by the Victorian Government through the Department of Planning and Community Development, Sport and Recreation Victoria.
Brunswick Baths will be more accessible and environmentally friendly after its multimillion dollar upgrade, providing more options for people of all ages and abilities to take up healthy and active lifestyles.
During the redevelopment, dry programs have been relocated to a new and larger space in Phoenix Street, 
Brunswick.
All Group Fitness classes are run from St Ambrose Hall on Dawson Street, which increases class capacity from 35 to 50 participants per session.
