Moreland’s waste and recycling services are now among the most comprehensive in Australia, particularly with regard to recycling plastics, which are the worst polluters of soils and seas across the globe.
We are lucky to live in a privileged and fast-paced society. It is important we take the time to think about the impact our lifestyles have on the environment.
I encourage all residents to use this issue of Inside Moreland as a reference guide throughout the year – to find out the small and large ways you can make a positive difference to our community’s environment.
The content in this magazine outlines what Council is doing and how you can be involved in transforming a society that wastes too much, into a society that saves, reuses and recycles whenever possible.
We all need to stay up-to-date on sustainable living, and be aware that cutting waste goes beyond just what
we put in our bins.
Better habits start at home and at work. It is the changes we make in our daily lives that help build a better,
healthier and cleaner life for everyone in Moreland.
