Putting Gowanbrae in the middle of the map!

Congratulations to Shanna Crouch, winner of Moreland City Council’s Gowanbrae photo competition. Shanna wins a $100 JB Hi-Fi voucher and will have her photo published on the cover of Council’s new sustainable travel guide, to be released in two months time.

The new travel guide depicts sustainable transport options in Gowanbrae – and places the suburb in the centre of the map.

As Deputy Mayor Kathleen Matthews-Ward explained: “Gowanbrae is on the edge of many municipality maps (Hume, Moreland, Moonee Valley). We felt it was time the Gownanbrae community received their own map to showcase the wide variety of sustainable transport options available.”

The map will feature a TravelSmart style map as well as details about Gowanbrae's bus service, local and online shopping and a Metlink journey planner.

Council’s Gowanbrae photo competition was open only to Gowanbrae residents.

“The winning image was chosen as it was a warm photography that captured autumn in Gowanbrae,” the Deputy Mayor said.
