Statement on noise restrictions
From Jo Connellan
Portfolio Councillor City Development
Prior to October 2008 it was possible for Council to manage the hours of noise on construction sites. Since this time, the Victorian Government has exempted major residential developments from the provisions of the EPA act, making it open slather.
While Council continues to approve major residential developments via its planning scheme, it can no longer control construction noise.
For further details, I suggest you talk to the local MP whose Government brought in this change to the regulations.
