I am deeply horrified and appalled by this horrendous incident and also empathise with the owners who lost their pets and who now feel unsafe around their property.

Today I’m issuing a public plea for witnesses to come forward to Council with information relating to the vicious dog attack in the vicinity of Meadow Street, Coburg on the eve of Wednesday 8 December.

I am prepared to ask officers to re-open this case if new information becomes available.

During our investigation we door knocked the area but nobody in the vicinity heard or saw the killing of the two small dogs. Council is unable to get to the full facts of this horrendous situation unless witnesses come forward that are prepared to go to court to give evidence.
