Your local Council makes local laws to help make the community a safe, happy and healthy place for everybody to live.
Local laws are rules that encourage residents to consider their neighbours.
Cell 2
Local laws are rules about:
- roads and streets
- animals, and
- litter and the environment.
Cell 3
Local laws about roads and streets are rules about where people can park or drive cars and other vehicles.
Cell 4
Local laws about animals are rules about the number and types of pets people can own.
Cell 5
Local laws about litter and the environment are rules about household garbage and other rubbish.
Cell 6
Your local Council exists to help people follow the rules and solve problems.
People who break the rules may be fined.
You can get help from your local Council by:
- telephoning Council
- visiting Council in person
- viewing the Council website.
