oxYgen Project
Youth spaces in Moreland
The oxYgen project is exploring the possibilities for creating youth spaces and services in Moreland.
Guided by a committee of young people aged 12 – 25 years old, the project is giving young people the opportunity to have a say and influence decision making in their own community.
During 2009 the oxYgen Project spoke to young people, service providers and members of the community about ideal future youth spaces for Moreland.
Responses from this research came together in the oxYgen report "Investing in our young people (PDF 1Mb)", and in 2010 its recommendations for youth spaces was accepted by Council.
Currently we are undergoing a site selection process to find the best place for the youth facility in Moreland. For the most recent news, keep an eye on our updates page and become a fan on Facebook.
Take part in the oxYgen Project
During 2011, the oxYgen Project will be running different working groups with young people to get advice on the development of different youth spaces and buildings.
If you are a young person who is keen to share ideas and wants to take part in shaping their community, contact Simon Vella, Youth Participation Officer on 9389 8645.
