Smoke detectors

The Department of Human Services has developed new guidelines for the disposal of smoke detectors (PDF 42Kb).

Some household smoke detectors can now be disposed of in the general household rubbish. For further information on the disposal of smoke detectors contact the Radiation Safety Section, Department of Human Services, phone 1300 767 469,  or email the Radiation Safety Section at the Department of Human Services.

Steel cans

Council's weekly kerbside recycling collection accepts empty steel and aerosol cans.
