Aqua Play
Aqua play is a group for infants to come and play a full range of water based games and familiarisation activities which are taken by a qualified facilitator in a social setting to encourage aquatic enjoyment. These sessions are to encourage social activity, exploration, safe and fun water practice. The sessions are not structured lessons but are a good stepping stone for program placement.
Children are required to wear an aqua nappy in the water until toilet trained. Cloth or disposable nappies are not permitted in the pool. These nappies need to be a snug fitting and are available for purchase at reception. It is recommended that you bring a spare set with you in case of any accidents. Parents/Guardians are also required to wear suitable clothing such as lycra swimming costumes, board shorts, rash vest or birkinis.
Who is Aqua Play for?
The group is designed for infants 6 months to 12 months of age to help give them experience in water play in a safe happy environment . Parents/ Carers must accompany their child in the water.
General information
The sessions are not conducted as term based fee program and bookings are not required. Participation numbers are limited, to ensure a spot we recommend that you come in approximately 15 minutes earlier. Sessions only run during the school term. Late entries will not be permitted.
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 10.45 am - 11.15 am
Participants: One child/One parent
Cost: $7.10
There is a limit of 15 participants per session, come in 15 minutes early to ensure a spot during the school terms.
What's next?
Once your child is 12 months - 3 years the next step is Infact Aquatics (Wonder 1 - 3). Water based playgroup full of water games and familiarisation activities.Children are introduced to the water through a range of games, activities and songs and are encouraged to develop confidence with full participation.
