Immunisation for adults
Hepatitis B
Immunisation against Hepatitis B for adults is available on a fee for service basis.
Hepatitis B is $20 per dose – a course of three is required.
Chickenpox
Immunisation against Chickenpox is available on a fee for service basis.
Varilrix is $55 per dose. Children 12 months to 13 years need one dose.
Children aged over 13 years and adults require 2 doses.
These must be prepaid at a Council Citizens Service Centre as no money is taken at an immunisation session.
Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis
Adults should receive a booster dose of Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis at 50 years of age to maintain immunity levels.
Free vaccine is available to parents of babies born before June 2009. All other adult boosters are available for a fee of $35per dose.
Rubella
Women planning pregnancy should have their Rubella levels tested at least 3 months before falling pregnant.
Where to get immunised
Council holds immunisation sessions in Moreland. Come to a session for any of the vaccines above.
Due to improvements in vaccines and vaccine combinations the National Immunisation Program schedule varies from time to time.
