Renew or reserve
Renew an item
When you renew an item, you borrow it for longer. The extra time is the same as the borrowing time, for example, three weeks for books.
You can renew items two more times after you borrow them.
Renew items at the library, by telephone or with the online library catalogue. You cannot renew an item if someone else has reserved the item or if the item is overdue.
Reserve an item
Library users may reserve items free of charge. There is a limit of 10 reserves per person.
The library notifies you when a reserved item is available to be picked up from the branch you selected. A reserved item is kept for you for seven days. You must come into the library to borrow it.
You can reserve an item:
- at the information desk of a Moreland library
- by calling a Moreland library, or
- on online library catalogue.
Items from libraries not in Moreland
You can ask to borrow an item from a library that is not in Moreland. There is a fee for this service. Sometimes the other library charges a fee, usually $13.20. If this is the case, we will contact you first to see if you still want the item. It may take six to eight weeks to arrive.
