Return items

You can return your books, magazines, CDs or DVDs to any Moreland library at any time. All Moreland libraries provide an after hours chute so that items can be returned even if the library is closed.

Overdue items

There are fines if you return library items late. The fee is 25 cents per item for each day after the due date. The maximum fee is $25 per library card. You can pay your overdue fees at once or pay a minimum of $3 each time you borrow. 

Lost or stolen items

Tell the library immediately if you lose a library item or it is stolen. The library will renew the item, just in case you find it. 

If you do not find or recover the item, you must pay for it and also pay a processing fee of $6.50. You may choose to pay off a minimum of $5 towards the total cost, each time you borrow.

If you find the item within six months, you can return it with your payment receipt and the Council will send you a cheque for this amount minus a $5 administration fee.

Damaged items

If you damage an item, you must pay for the repair of the item or pay for a new item.  Your home insurance policy may cover theft and fire damage.
