Podcast help
What is a podcast?
A podcast is an audio file that you can listen to over the internet.
Moreland City Council has one podcast of public talks by local authors, writers, poets and community experts at Moreland Libraries.
How can I listen to a podcast?
There are three ways to listen to our podcasts.
Choose the Moreland Library Talk you'd like to listen to and then:
- Click the PLAY button on the audio player, or
- Download the MP3 file (Windows: right click + Save link as... Mac: Ctrl + Save as), or
- Subscribe to the podcast (see below).
What is RSS and how do I subscribe?
RSS stands for 'Really Simple Sydication'. It means that content, for example, a podcast, is delivered to your computer automatically instead of you having to check websites to keep up to date. Podcast software uses RSS to 'subscribe' to a podcast, much like you would subscribe to a magazine.
Podcast software
Before you can subscribe to a podcast and get it regularly 'delivered' to your computer, you need free podcast software like iTunes or Juice.
Every time a new podcast is added to the Moreland City Council website, your software will pick it up and download it to your computer.
