Pay a parking fine

Pay a parking fine onlineUse Council's online payments

Pay a parking fine online using Visa or MasterCard. You must pay the whole fine, and not just a partial amount.

A fine can be paid online 48 hours after it was issued. You can’t pay the fine online if it has been referred to the courts for prosecution.

What you need

When you pay a parking fine online enter the Ticket No. located in the top left of your infringement notice and the vehicle Registration number.
  • a copy of your parking infringement notice
  • the 'Ticket No.' and the vehicle registration number on your notice, and
  • your Visa or MasterCard.

How to pay online

  • Go to Council's ePayments for a parking fine.
  • Detailed step-by-step instructions help you through the payment process. Go to ePayments help if you need support.
  • At the end of the payment process you get a reference number. Print the final screen or write down your reference number. You are not emailed a receipt for your online payment.

Payment plan options

If you cannot pay the fine at once, you can pay the fine over time.

The fine outlines various ways to make the payment including assistance for those with special circumstances and payment plan options.

What happens if you don't pay

Council sends you a second letter and increases your fine if you:

  • have not paid the fine in full in 28 days, or
  • have not contacted Council and organised for a payment plan, or
  • have not appealed the fine.
After Council sends you the second letter and if you have still not paid the fine, Council starts legal action in the Magistrates Court. You can defend your charge in court.
