Temporary road or lane closures
You need a temporary road closure permit to close any part of a road or laneway for a special event.
Council issues temporary road closure permits.
Your event could be a:
- fun run
- bike ride
- street party
- festival
- parade
- community event
- sporting event, or
- church procession.
Apply for a temporary road closure permit
Write a letter and post or bring it to Council.
Include:
- date, time, duration and location of the event
- purpose of the closure
- length of the closure (from street to street), and
- a copy of public liability insurance of $10 million cover.
